Right now the scientific names on some species do not show on the site - we are working to fix this problem which should be solved after the back-up this morning.

We have now published Clements annual revision of the checklist on the website - version 2017 replaces the version from August last year. All members using Clements as their taxonomic reference, should go to Taxonomic Update and follow the instructions on the screen.

Many of the changes follow recent changes in IOC so the checklists are becoming more similar (cf the news item from July on the current version 7.3 of IOC). It is noteworthy that an additional 11 families now are recognized some of which will be added in the next version of IOC. For some additional high level information on this year's changes, click Clements august 2017.

In order to be better prepared for the next release in a year, we recommend you to go through your lists with our Bird subspecies assignment tool. You should also refresh your checklists downloaded to Pocket to ensure that the new species are included.
